Weather, excessive humidity and very dry climates are factors that can damage an Aguadeño.
To protect it, dampen it periodically with a little water or a special softener. If you want to shape the hat before wearing it, remember that it must be a little damp. You can also iron the brim at low temperature, since this fiber is resistant to heat.
